SDNP's purpose is to assist developing countries in acquiring
the capacity to access and to contribute to solutions for sustainable development
via the medium of information and communication technologies. Towards this
end, SDNP offers services which facilitate the development of:

different segments of society.

Indexing, Search Facilities & Development of Metadata
The SDNP_NY site, as well as SDNP Central American sites mirrored in NY can be searched from here.
Connectivity:
SDNP established early Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in a large number of countries, including Angola, Chad, Philippines, and Honduras. Several of these projects went on to commercialize their operations, remaining as a primary access point for networking within NGOs and Civil Society Organizations. Other SDNPs (Mozambique) have gone on to promote internet connectivity for under- served remote and regional areas through VSAT connections and other means. While the problem of connectivity as such has been "solved" especially in capital cities, SDNP has expertise in designing and implementing connectivity solutions for remote and regional areas.
Website Hosting & Mirroring:
SDNP HQ in New York and national projects in the countries offer hosting facilities for servers and websites for partners, UN agencies, and related organizations. For a list of websites hosted by the SDNP_NY server, click here.
As a pilot on regional resources, SDNP_NY mirrors all the Central American SDNP websites and provides the facility to search them. The search facility is to be extended to being able to provide consultant and other such resources. For websites mirroring on the SDNP_NY server, click here.
